Butterfly Kisses

This picture is based off of an experience I had at Bethel Church one night about 3 months ago.

I was in the pre-prayer room, and feeling depressed. I sat down to the side as others walked around the room, praying over the service that was going to start in about an hour. I sighed, depressed over many things...Life had gotten really hard at that time, and I was very upset.

A woman approached me and introduced herself to me. She sat down next to me and told me that she had this feeling she should prophecy over me. So she held my hands and began to pray. I started crying, as I often do during prayer, and she told me many wonderful things about what God thought about me. However, I was still having my doubts. I wondered if God was even there in that moment.

I had my eyes shut, and suddenly I began to see flickering lights in my eyes. These lights formed into beautiful, deep-blue sparkling butterflies. This image flashed in my head for a millisecond it seemed. Just as I was about to think, "Wow, That's beautiful!" The woman out-loud said to me,

"I see Jesus smothering you in Butterfly Kisses."

I began to laugh and cry-as I melted under the weight of God's love towards me. It was amazing how God confirmed what I was seeing and hearing in my mind.

With this picture, I wanted to remind people that God loves them with an intimate love. A love we sometimes cannot understand, but a love that passes through every level of shame, guilt, and fear we may have. He loves us on the level we're at, too. I am a person who is in need of a lot of grace, patience, and affection. For whatever reason God has, he likes to show me images and what Romantic images these are! They are precious and dear to my heart...I mean, BUTTERFLY KISSES?!? That's about as intimate as one can get. For you, it may be different. He knows what you need. Whether it's images in your mind, overwhelming joy, or bringing you to His chest to cry your eyes out-God knows what you need, when you need it! It may look different than how I experience him or how anyone else experiences him, but He is meant to be experienced!!

God will love you where you're at. But I challenge you to come out of your comfort zone, and ask Him to reveal to you what he LOVES about you! He loves you through and through and I know that if he wants to kiss me with butterflies, he wants to do that with you too!
